FTI Consulting has released the final segment of the 2024 General Counsel Report. This comprehensive report examines the digital risk landscape that corporate legal departments are currently facing or have encountered over the last year.
Part IV of the report examines how chief legal officers are addressing the demands that arise from managing their department, including team members and resource availability.
Report findings include:
- More than 80% of the participants are experiencing a strain on capacity, resources, and budgets within their department. Additionally, 53% reported an increase in costs related to their top risk areas.
- In terms of current distribution of work, one-third reported spending more than 40% of their time on contracting.
- More than half of respondents would like to hire a Legal Operations professional or expand the role.
